Processen b\u00f6rjar med bisamh\u00e4llets sk\u00f6tsel (som omfattar big\u00e5rdar med cirka 3000 bikupor), d\u00e4r hundratusentals bin av arten &#8220;Apis mellifera&#8221; samlar nektar fr\u00e5n olika blommor f\u00f6r att ta den till bikupan och g\u00f6ra honung, bivax och gel\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Honung \u00e4r ett livsmedel vars beredning b\u00f6rjar i v\u00e4xten d\u00e4r nektar produceras fr\u00e4mst i blommornas bas. N\u00e4r bina pollinerar transporterar de nektarn i sin honungsbl\u00e5sa och tar med den till bikupan f\u00f6r att lagra den i bikakeceller, d\u00e4r honungen sen samlas in av biodlaren n\u00e4r den har mognat. Honungen extraheras och cellerna reng\u00f6rs igen f\u00f6r att bina ska kunna anv\u00e4nda dem igen.
